The Arts of the Middle East Festival celebrates the diverse cultures, traditions, and artistic expressions of the Middle East through a full day of performances, cultural experiences, family activities, and food. Built on the former site of the coal fired Lakeview Generating Station and named for the late Mississauga councillor who championed its restoration, this new waterfront conservation area adds several kilometres of trail and boardwalk along Lake Ontario, with restored wetland and meadow habitat. Reached via Marie Curtis Park on the Waterfront Trail.

Home to Credit Valley Conservation's head office, this park follows the Credit River through floodplain forest and open meadow, with picnic areas and gazebos along the way. A quieter, less travelled stretch of the river valley than the trails further south.

A paved, easy multi use path through Cooksville's green corridor, linking Richard Jones Park and Mississauga Valley Park before continuing south toward Lakeshore Road and the Waterfront Trail. A good flat route for walking, jogging or an easy bike ride.

A large community park in Malton built around an adventure playground with a fairytale theme, complete with castles, turrets and dragon slides, plus a splash pad, trails and picnic areas. A retired Avro Canada CF-100 Canuck fighter jet sits on display near the park, a nod to Malton's roots as a hub of Canadian aircraft manufacturing.

A 40-hectare waterfront park in Lakeview with an unsupervised beach, a boardwalk, a splash pad, beach volleyball courts and a marina with slips for visiting boats. One of the most complete free lakefront destinations in the city, with trails and picnic spots along the shore.

The city's flagship library in City Centre, reopened after a major renovation with a fourth-floor Sky Reading Lounge enclosed in glass with panoramic views over Celebration Square. Admission is free, and the building also has a maker space, a gaming lounge and quiet study areas, a solid rainy-day alternative to the city's outdoor spots.

A 13-acre waterfront property in Lakeview built around a 1920s manor house, gatehouse and barn, with grounds that are now a public park along the Waterfront Trail. Free parking and a small beach make it an easy stop for a lakeside walk or a picnic among the historic buildings.

Once the private grounds of the 1926 Cawthra-Elliot family estate near Cawthra Road and the QEW, this property was purchased by the City of Mississauga in 1974 and opened for passive park use. Its surrounding woodlot is provincially recognized habitat for the endangered Jefferson salamander, making it one of the city's more ecologically significant green spaces.
